Counting rules, coverage, and sources
Rider visits count each normalized name + published hometown + state once per event listing. Entering multiple classes at that event counts once; entering another event counts again. Two event listings on the same weekend can count as two visits. This is an event participation measure, not verified gate attendance or people per day.
*Different racers are estimated by deduplicating that same name-and-hometown combination within a month or across the season. Monthly racer counts overlap: do not add them to get the season total. Riders with spelling or hometown changes can appear more than once; people sharing the same name and hometown can merge. Two names with conflicting hometowns remain separate for review. AMA numbers were not used for matching.
Practice-labeled classes are removed. DNS, DNF, and unclassified race entries are retained, so these figures describe listed entrants, not confirmed starters. Percentages in the selected snapshot exclude unknown origins; monthly stacked bars include unknown origins.
Coverage: 15 posted event listings from March 28 to October 10, checked through October 23, 2026. Includes 5 motocross/supercross, 8 mini-track, and 2 flat-track listings. Each extracted row count matches its source’s posted total. The source has 3,062 rows before removing 523 practice-class entries.
Pagoda’s site links to Trackside, which redirects to ResultsMX. This is an analysis of club-linked public results, not a direct AMA database export. The September 13 scheduled big-track bike/quad event has no corresponding result listing in the collected data. Source dates are preserved; some Sunday MX events are posted under Saturday dates. Missing uploads, other racing programs, and events after the snapshot are not counted. August and September have no big-track MX listings in this dataset. This is a partial view of the racer audience, not a complete club attendance census.
